Vehicles are loaded and secured by a winch cable system that pulls your vehicle upon the truck bed.
Integrated Tow Truck
Integrated trucks are used for more heavy-duty applications. These can transport Semi-Trucks or buses with extra strength integrated into the drivetrain for added stability and strength.
Hook and Chain Tow Truck
Hook and chain trucks are the grandfather of tow trucks but have decreased in popularity due to the added stress added to the towed vehicles frame. Their bread and butter is transporting wrecked vehicles to the junkyard. On modern 4×4 and all wheel drive vehicles these are not a viable option due to the damage that will be done to their axles and driveshaft. These are used for delivering junk vehicles, because there is no worry of added damage to the bumper area or drivetrain.
Wheel-Lift Tow Truck
Wheel-Lift tow trucks are similar in design to hook and chain tow trucks. The largest difference being they use a metal yoke instead of a chain to minimize damage to the towed vehicle. These trucks are ideal for illegal parking situations or retrieving a car from a tight space.
